Description
After 30 months, the presentation summarizes the status and results of the PhD project. The goal was to address the overarching topic of UV astronomy from two perspectives. First, the characterization of a UV-sensitive scientific CMOS sensor developed specifically for the ULTRASAT mission. Second, the creation of the first all-sky catalog of UV variables and transients based on GALEX archival data that will benefit the ULTRASAT mission once it is operational with an initial reference catalog and analysis pipeline. Preparations are currently underway for characterization of the final sensor (flight hardware) following a successful phase of test sensor characterization and wafer-level batch testing. Work on the variability analysis pipeline continues and initial results are promising.
